Institutional Biosafety Committee
In compliance with the Nation Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Science Policy to promote transparency under the NIH Guidelines for Research, minutes from the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) meetings for OhioHealth reviews are provided below. The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) for the OhioHealth Research Institute (OHRI) is responsible for reviewing research involving certain biohazardous materials to ensure compliance with both institutional policies and the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules.
IBC Meeting Minutes
In alignment with the NIH’s March 28, 2025, announcement promoting transparency and public accessibility in biosafety practices, and as part of our ongoing commitment to public accountability, the Office of Biosafety publicly posts approved Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) meeting minutes for all meetings held on or after June 1, 2025. In compliance with the latest NIH guidelines, this page provides approved IBC meeting minutes—typically approved at the subsequent scheduled meeting—detailing discussions and decisions related to biosafety and biosecurity in research involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecules, with the goal of ensuring the safe and responsible conduct of research while fostering public trust and adherence to regulatory standards.
