Proactive care for those at higher risk of cancer

If you have a family history of cancer or other risk factors, the OhioHealth High-Risk Cancer Clinic offers personalized screening, prevention strategies and expert guidance. Our team works with you to understand your risk and create a plan that helps protect your health — because early action can make all the difference.

Who is at higher risk for cancer?

Some people face a higher risk of cancer due to factors like family history or genetics. If you have these risk factors, the High-Risk Cancer Clinic can help you understand your risk and take proactive steps for prevention.

What to expect at your clinic visit

Your first appointment includes a comprehensive cancer risk assessment with our medical director, Bushra Siddiqi, MD. You may also meet with a genetic counselor for same-day testing and a detailed review of your family history and risk factors.

After your evaluation, we’ll create a personalized plan that may include:

  • More frequent screenings
  • Risk-reducing options like lifestyle changes, medication or surgery
  • Referrals to specialists for advanced care

At follow-up visits, our team will reassess your risk and update your plan to ensure you receive the most effective care.
