Meet the Faculty

Carrie Finegan

Director of Pastoral Care

Carrie Finegan is the system Director of Pastoral Care and oversees the managers and Pastoral Care associates at over a dozen care sites throughout OhioHealth. She is European American, ordained in the United Methodist Church, and is a licensed foster parent for Franklin County. Carrie earned her B.A. in English-Creative Writing (minors in Japanese and Political Science) from Texas Christian University and her M.Div. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. She is an ACPE Certified Educator, ACPE National Faculty, a Board Certified Chaplain in the Association of Professional Chaplains, and on the Leadership Team for the Ohio Family Care Association. Carrie lives in Columbus with her husband, son, father, and their 3-legged dog.


Jeffrey Holman 

System Manager

Jeff Holman is an endorsed Roman Catholic ACPE Certified Educator. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and a Masters in Theological Studies from Duke Divinity School. Jeff served as the Director of Pastoral Care in a large, Franciscan congregation when he discovered CPE in a continuing education experience that led him to enroll in an Extended Unit at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC. He stayed with Rex and completed a Residency over a two year period with time split between parish work and hospital ministry before going on to complete his supervisory training. Jeff led a CPE program at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN before moving to Columbus to work with OSUMC’s program prior to becoming a part of our team here at OhioHealth.


Ben Iten

ACPE Certified Educator

Ben is an endorsed Humanist Chaplain with the Humanist Society. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Jewish Studies from The Ohio State University and his Masters of Divinity from the Methodist School of Ohio. Ben completed his CPE internship and residency with OhioHealth Grant Medical Center and OhioHealth Riverside, including a second year residency in Palliative Care. He became a Certified Educator in 2020 and National Faculty in 2022. He currently is the lead Clinical Pastoral Educator for the CPE Program at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center.  


Phillip Niewoehner-Green

ACPE Certified Educator  

Phillip is a European American ACPE Certified Educator endorsed with The Religious Naturalist Association. He also draws upon his Protestant Christian cultural background and decades of Buddhist practice to inform his approach to chaplaincy and chaplaincy education. In addition to a B.A. in Comparative Religion from the University of Washington, Phillip also has a M.A. and Ph.D. in Religion from the University of Florida where he specialized in early Buddhist and Hindu traditions. Phillip completed his first CPE residency with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical center and later did a second-year residency with OhioHealth focusing on chaplaincy education and supervision. Phillip is currently the lead Clinical Pastoral Educator for the CPE Program at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.


Mike Oskin

Casual Pastoral Educator

Mike Oskin is ordained in the Church of the Brethren. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA.; his Master of Public Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh; and his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. After seminary, he was a parish pastor for two years and then went into hospital ministry. He completed his clinical pastoral education (CPE) at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland, OH, and Abington Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. His supervisory training was completed at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond, VA. Mike is an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) Certified Educator and a board-certified chaplain in the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC).


Ronglan Huang

Certified Educator Candidate

Ronglan is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. She earned a Bachelor of Law in China, a Master of Divinity at Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary in the Philippines, and a Doctor of Ministry at Winebrenner Theological Seminary in Ohio. After seminary, Ronglan served as a parish pastor in Ohio for seven years. She completed Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) internship and residency with OhioHealth, and then served as a CPE fellow for a year. Ronglan currently serve as a staff Chaplain at OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital as well as a CPE Certified Educator Candidate.


Jackie Nehls

Certified Educator Candidate

Jackie Nehls is ordained in the United Church of Christ (UCC). She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Toledo, Ohio; her Master of Theological Studies at Trinity Lutheran Seminary; Master of Divinity at the Methodist Theological School of Ohio and Masters in Counseling from Heidelberg University. Jackie has been with OhioHealth for 25 years serving most of those years in Hospice care. She did her Chaplain residency at OhioHealth and was Board Certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) in 2004. Jackie is currently the Pastoral Care Manager for OhioHealth Grant Medical Center and Pickerington Methodist Hospital, as well as an ACPE Certified Educator Candidate.
