Meet Mike Hyek
President, OhioHealth Morrow County Hospital
Mike Hyek serves as president of OhioHealth Morrow County Hospital, which became the 16th member hospital in the system on January 1, 2025. He has held this position since 2022, playing a key role in the hospital's transition from a managed hospital to full a full member within the health system. Mike is committed to supporting the local community and takes pride in advancing OhioHealth’s mission to improve the health of those it serves.
Mike has been with OhioHealth for 20 years. He formerly served as the Senior Director of Service Lines Prevention and Wellness. This role included oversight of the OhioHealth McConnell Health and the OhioHealth Neuroscience Wellness Center on the McConnell Center’s campus.
He has a long history of managing outpatient health facilities, with a specific focus on wellness and disease prevention. Mike is dedicated to leadership development and holds an executive coaching certification, which enables him to serve as a coach in OhioHealth’s high-potential leadership programs. He has served as a university-level professor teaching classes and providing guest lectures. He began his career in healthcare at Memorial Hermann Healthcare in Houston working in cardiac rehabilitation as an exercise physiologist and later, program manager. Mike has also authored several research publications.
Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Chemistry from Texas Lutheran University and a doctorate degree in Pharmacology from the University of Houston.
Mike grew up in a small Texas town called Edna with a population 6,000 and moved to Ohio in 2000. Mike enjoys working out, home improvement projects, boating and traveling. He is married and has two children.
