For Runners, by Runners
Runners are unique. Driven. They push themselves through rain or shine, cold or heat, night and day.
Unique athletes deserve a unique team of experts focused on improving performance, no matter if they're sprinters, marathoners, triathletes or morning joggers.
OhioHealth's Runner's Clinic, led by Dr. Darrin Bright, provides comprehensive treatment focused on improving form, endurance and overall performance.
OhioHealth Runner's Clinic: Enhancing Your Performance
Our multi-disciplinary team of experts—most of whom are runners—analyze your training, technique, conditioning, nutrition and much more, using the latest technology, all in the name of creating a comprehensive plan of action designed to prevent injury and improve performance based on your personal goals.
Recommendations are personalized to the runner, but can range from nutrition planning to orthotics and training schedule optimization.
OhioHealth Runner's Clinic: Evaluation and Assessment
At the Runner's Clinic, everything starts with a comprehensive evaluation of you, the runner. This evaluation takes approximately three hours and includes a one-on-one evaluation with the program's director, Dr. Darrin Bright—Medical Director for the Columbus Marathon, Capital City Half Marathon and coach for Marathoner in Training (MIT).
The evaluation also includes:
- Dartfish video analysis, which assesses running technique and gait
- Full musculoskeletal and biomechanical assessment with a physical therapist
- Personalized nutrition counseling with a sports dietitian
- Force place assessment of foot biomechanics
- Expert running shoe evaluation
