Do I need a referral to begin speech therapy at OhioHealth?

Yes, you will need a referral to start a speech therapy rehabilitation program. Talk with your primary care specialist about your concerns and they will be able to assist you with the referral process.

What does a speech therapy session look like?

Speech therapy involves your speech language pathologist guiding you through exercises and techniques to improve articulation, fluency, voice modulation and comprehension. Most therapy sessions last between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your treatment plan and specific needs.
