Why Choose Simulation at Riverside Methodist Hospital

Our fellowship program is designed to bring you up to speed smoothly, while learning from the best minds in the field.

We are now accepting applications for our fellowship in simulation. The fellowship will develop individuals as leaders in simulation-based healthcare education and provide opportunities for research in the field of simulation-based education. The fellowship is funded and has been accredited by the American College of Surgeons.

The fellowship in simulation is offered as a one/two year fellowship. During this time, the fellow will be involved in:

  • Advanced Adult Learning Theory
  • Curriculum development for multiple medical specialties and residency programs
  • Learners and program evaluation and assessment
  • Operational, leadership issues related to simulation centers
  • Research resulting in presentations and publications
  • Personal leadership and skill development

The optimal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a surgical specialty (such as anesthesia and OB/GYN), but applications will be accepted from physicians outside of surgical specialties, as well as from those individuals pursuing advanced education degrees. Those with interrupted training tracts or careers will be considered. For those wishing to pursue clinical opportunities, a combined fellowship/work schedule may be possible. An advanced educational degree program may be available to those candidates who wish to pursue this opportunity.
