Pulmonary rehabilitation services
If you have any of the common chronic pulmonary diseases —like emphysema, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis or pulmonary fibrosis, —you will benefit from pulmonary rehabilitation services.

What research shows
Studies show that after you participate in a pulmonary rehab program, you will

  • Have fewer visits to the emergency room and fewer hospitalizations
  • Miss less time from work and other activities
  • Spend less on your medical care

What we offer
Our Pulmonary Rehab program offers education and exercise sessions meeting three times per week. These sessions can help you feel better and have more control of your symptoms.

Admission
Admission to pulmonary rehabilitation requires a physician referral. Prior to beginning pulmonary rehabilitation, an exercise physiologist will complete an evaluation including your medical, occupational and social history. We may recommend to you and your physician additional tests including pulmonary function, exercise tolerance and an EKG.

An individual program will be designed that meets your specific needs. Your referring physician will be kept fully informed of treatment plans, findings and therapy results. We also send a written report including recommendations for follow up.

Scope of services
Based on your individual needs, you may receive a variety of the following services:

  • Disease management skills
  • Breathing retraining
  • Medication education
  • Aerobic/cardiovascular exercise
  • Conditioning weight-training
  • Aquatic exercise
  • Smoking cessation
  • Relaxation training
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Airway clearance techniques

Program costs
Most health insurance plans cover Pulmonary Rehabilitation. As a portion of the enrollment process, we will contact your insurer to verify coverage of this program.
