Overview of UpBEAT Programs
We offer a variety of activities throughout the week that meet the needs of all of our members, including:
- UpBEAT Book Club
Join a lively discussion with the UpBEAT Book Club. Every month a new book will be discussed.
- UpBEAT History Group
Join us as we take a look back in history with UpBEAT History Group. We bring in a range of presenters from local historical society associates to members within our community who offer a wealth of information about historical topics.
- UpBEAT Singing Group
Share your talent with us in the UpBEAT Singing Group. We encourage members to bring their voices and listening ears to share in singing together.
- UpBEAT Food for Thought Program
UpBEAT Food for Thought Program provides free health education workshops and presentations.
- UpBEAT Lunch Program
Join us for a social outing at a local restaurant through the UpBEAT Lunch Program. The Lunch Program is open to our members and their guests where each attendee pays for their own meal.

- UpBEAT Chair Volleyball
Meet new friends and have fun doing it through our UpBEAT Chair Volleyball Program. You will have the opportunity to practice with your teammates and play one to three games each session leading up to the annual tournament.

- UpBEAT Exercise Program
This one-hour Gentle Yoga for All class, emphasizes proper breathing, stretching and relaxation techniques. Gentle Yoga for All is taught by UpBEAT exercise leaders, trained by Marshall University training instructors. Classes are free to anyone age 55 and older.
