This physician is your advocate for all health-related matters and gets to know you and your health history, so you get the best care tailored to your needs.

And, when you have a long-term relationship with a primary care physician, you always have someone you can confidently turn to when you get sick.

Choosing a Primary Care Provider

You can choose from several options for your primary care:

  • Family Medicine physician has completed a family medicine medical education training program and is devoted to comprehensive healthcare for people of all ages, from newborns to seniors.
  • An Internal Medicine physician has completed an internal medicine medical education training program and specializes in the diagnosis and medical treatment of adults.
  • Primary care is also provided by licensed and certified Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who work in collaboration with physicians, and patients may often choose these advanced practice clinicians as their primary care provider.
  • Pediatrician is physician who manages the healthcare of children from birth until age 21. A pediatrician is trained to diagnose and treat a broad range of childhood illnesses from minor health problems to serious diseases.
