Emergency Medical Services Fellowship - Doctors Hospital
We prepare our fellows for lifelong careers in emergency medical services.
OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Fellowship is a new, one-year ACGME accredited program for physicians interested in the ever-challenging field of EMS Medicine. We train our fellows in the field working with some of Columbus' best paramedics where they will gain EMS experience with administration, ground, critical care and aeromedical transport. We accept two fellows yearly.

Full Breadth of Exciting Training Opportunities
Receive the best hands-on training and field exposure in a variety of clinical settings.
Based primarily in the greater Columbus area, fellows will be assigned the role of Associate Medical Directors for a suburban Fire or EMS department, while actively participating in a large urban system, rural departments, mass gatherings and special events. Additional opportunities spanning 47 Ohio counties in flight medicine, community paramedicine, and EMS educational aspects round out our curriculum.
At the end of the one-year program, our fellows will be set up for successful completion of the EMS boards and active practice in both EMS Medicine and Medical Direction.

Our fellows work in rural, urban and suburban locations, with patients of all ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds. This further augments their skill and competency as physicians.
Teaching facilities include: Doctors Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine, Springfield Regional Medical Center, Central Ohio Trauma System, Columbus Division of Fire, Franklin Township Fire Department, Jackson Township Fire Department, Jefferson Township Fire Department, Norwich Township Fire Department, Pleasant Township Fire Department, Prairie Township Fire Department, Scioto Township Fire Department and Sterling Joint Ambulance District.
