Understanding Your Bill and Insurance Coverage
It is important to the healing process for patients to focus on getting well. Our team understands that handling insurance and billing can be difficult, and we are prepared to help see you through this process so you can focus on better health.
You will receive a copy of your hospital bill a few weeks after your hospital stay. You also may receive other bills from your doctor(s), including your family doctor or specialists.

Prices for healthcare services are available from Registration, Patient Financial Services or the OhioHealth Price Line (614) 566.8707.

We are proud to offer several programs to patients in need of financial assistance.
- Medicaid Program Eligibility Assistance
There are several Medicaid programs available to Ohio residents. Our financial services representatives can assist you with the application and eligibility process for the Healthy Start and Healthy Families programs; Medicaid for the aged, blind and disabled; and Alien Emergency Medical Assistance. If you are found eligible for one of these programs, you may be covered for hospital care, provider services, prescriptions, mental health services, and vision and dental services.

- Visit the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services website to download an application.
- Hospital Care Assurance Program (HCAP)
The Hospital Care Assurance Program (HCAP) is available to Ohio Residents who are not currently eligible for Medicaid and whose total gross family income is at or below the federal poverty guidelines. If you qualify for the HCAP program, you may be eligible for basic medical care without charge.
- Charity Care
We offer additional financial assistance programs to our patients who are not eligible for Medicaid or HCAP. Eligibility is based on family size and income up to 250 percent of the current federal poverty level. Individuals with extenuating circumstances will be considered for additional assistance programs.
Our financial services representatives are available to assist you in determining your eligibility for financial assistance with your hospital bills. To begin the application process, you must complete a financial aid application. To obtain a financial aid application:

- Call (740) 420.8020, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, to speak with a PFS support specialist or to schedule an appointment.
