|Getting to know us|
Riverside's General Surgery residency program is a five-year, ACGME-accredited program. Four categorical and four preliminary residents per year are accepted into the program. The first year consists of medical and surgical rotations, while the second and third years emphasize general surgery and surgical sub-specialties. In the fourth and fifth years, residents assume primary responsibility for the patients of the attending staff, uninsured patients in the hospital and outpatient clinics, and trauma patients, while under the supervision of appropriately credentialed teaching physicians. Residents also rotate at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Nationwide Children's Hospital, and The Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center.
