An OhioHealth staff member may call you before your stay to help you register ahead of time. When you arrive at your care site, you'll simply need to stop by the Registration/Admitting Department desk to sign paperwork. During registration, you will receive information about:
- Rights & Responsibilities
- Legal & Ethical Decisions
- Special Services
You can pre-register online for the following services:
- outpatient procedures/tests
- maternity services
The online form must be completed at least 3 business days prior to your scheduled appointment time. Business days are defined as Monday through Friday.
Maternity patients can pre-register up to 3 months prior to their expected delivery date.
A registrar may contact you to validate or obtain any additional needed information.
Most patients are admitted at the care site's Registration/Admitting Department. In special cases (in an emergency, if you come from another hospital or if you're transported by ambulance or helicopter), you may be admitted through the Emergency Department, where our staff will gather necessary information from you or your family.
If you're visiting an OhioHealth care site for an outpatient procedure, test or treatment, your doctor's office will give you instructions about when and where to go and how to register. (See online pre-registration above.) Depending on your procedure or test, you may want to have a family member or friend drive you home.
