OhioHealth Neuroscience Wellness Center

Empowering a community to build strength for life

We believe exceptional neuroscience care extends beyond clinical treatment. It happens when people living with neurological conditions have the resources they need to incorporate wellness into their daily lives.

That’s what the OhioHealth Neuroscience Wellness Center will offer our community – a destination like no other in the nation with programs that will empower neuroscience patients and their caregivers to build strength and health through exercise, education and support.

We design customized programs to keep you active and well throughout your life, like our OhioHealth Delay the DiseaseTM exercise program for people living with Parkinson’s disease and yoga classes for those with neurological disorders.

Inspiring wellness through design

The Neuroscience Wellness Center will be located on the newly named OhioHealth McConnell Wellness Campus, made possible by many, generous donors including John P. McConnell's $6 million commitment to support this initiative. Set back in a wooded area, this serene location will create the ideal environment to focus and motivate our members.

Every detail of the facility was built around our members’ physical and cognitive needs. The building was specifically designed to harness the tranquility of the surrounding woods and bring the outdoors in by featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows, a courtyard in the center and studios that open to outdoor decks. The design also features a glass-enclosed walking bridge that symbolizes one of the most important abilities that our members value – the ability to walk.

Providing exercise, education and support all under one roof

OhioHealth Neuroscience Wellness Center will offer exercise classes, education seminars and group support for people with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and other neurological conditions.

The center will also feature:

  • Multipurpose fitness studios
  • A “quiet” studio for mind-body classes with a deck that extends for outdoor programming
  • Exercise classes for all functional levels from chair-based to boot camp
  • Wheelchair accessible strength and cardio equipment
  • Indoor walking track
  • Standard and family locker rooms
  • Wellness educational programs for those living with a neurological condition and their care partners

The OhioHealth John J. Gerlach Senior Health Center will also relocate to the OhioHealth Neuroscience Wellness Center, offering clinical care and support services designed for older adults.
