Program strengths: This program begins by promoting the education of the basic eye exam and refraction techniques, participation in pre and postoperative care of patients and assist, under supervision, in surgery. Advanced training allows greater supervised responsibility and subspecialty training by allowing the residents to perform more complex supervised surgical procedures. The organization of educational programs for interns and students is also emphasized. Ambulatory experience is offered throughout the three years of training (1,178 visits in 2002). The resident can also expect to participate in daily lectures and weekly grand rounds at OSU. We offer a flexible schedule to meet the individual's educational needs.
Equipped with leading-edge technology, the Simulation Center helps the hospital educate and train its staff and community partners to meet the challenges of the changing healthcare environment.LEARN MORE
