A Message from McConnell's General Manager
Dear McConnell Heart Health Center Members,
After months of a tough winter, spring is on the horizon! I hope
you have survived the winter and have been able to keep active and
on track with your health and fitness goals. March is National
Nutrition Month. We are continuing our Expert-Is-In Series this
month with a presentation entitled, 10 Ways to Improve Your Diet NOW! Join us on March 18 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Classroom B
as MHHC Registered Dietitian Emily Monfiletto will share with you:
- the importance of eating a balanced diet
- easy exchanges to improve
energy and overall health
- resources and recipes to implement
Emily will also discuss some of the current programs at
MHHC that can further help you reach your goals.
Are you ready for McConnell Madness? It's that time of year
again for you to start getting credit for your activity! You can
pick up your game card starting March 1 on the fitness floor. Get ready to start tracking your activity and become eligible for
some great prizes and a new t-shirt.
We also have our annual 5K
Run/Walk coming in April. It's not too late to start getting ready
and setting a new goal for yourself this year. The 5K has become a
great annual tradition at MHHC, and it continues to grow. Walk or
run with fellow members and friends through Peggy's Path, get a
great workout and help us in our efforts to raise money for the
American Heart Association.
Thank you for being active members at MHHC. We appreciate the
opportunity to serve you and make a positive impact on your lives.
We are honored that you choose to come to MHHC, and we will continue
our efforts to improve your member experience.

Our Country's Current Need for Blood Is Urgent…You Can Help!
Each day, more than 41,000 blood donations are needed to save
lives across the country, and every two seconds, someone in the
United States is in need of blood. Although an estimated 38 percent of the
U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, less than 10 percent actually
do each year. The current level of blood donations needed in our
country is urgent…you can help!
The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at
McConnell on Monday, April 21, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Meeting Room A. If you
would like to donate, please call 1.800.RED.CROSS or the front desk
at (614) 566.3820 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are always
welcome, but space is limited. Please bring a valid picture ID.
Thank you in advance for your help!
