Guidance and Support for Senior Health Concerns

The John J. Gerlach Center for Senior Health provides you and your family with information and resources that meet the needs of senior adults.

Our Senior Health Programs and Services 

The Gerlach Center's multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, social workers and other specialized healthcare professionals can provide guidance and support while helping sort through senior health and lifestyle concerns, such as:

  • Trouble managing familiar tasks
  • Memory loss
  • The coordination of different medications
  • Complicated medical issues
  • Changes in mood or behavior
  • Unintentional weight loss
  • Withdrawal, isolation and lack of joy in life
  • Concerns with the ability to live alone
  • Changes in mobility or daily independent functioning

The AdvantAge Program at OhioHealth John J. Gerlach Center for Senior Health is open to anyone age 50 and over. Members receive added benefits, including discounted or free programs and services, such as:

  • Free education programs
  • Discounted transportation
  • Many other valuable discounts
  • Medicare and insurance assistance
  • Bi-monthly program catalogs
  • Access to the full services of the Gerlach Center 


Annual dues are $15 for an individual or $20 for a couple living at the same address. Membership is free to OhioHealth associates, retirees, and active or retired OhioHealth volunteers.

Comprehensive Geriatric Medical Consultation

Our Geriatric Assessment Team conducts an evaluation with a minimum of three appointments for issues specific to aging adults. The Team includes a geriatric medicine doctor and works in partnership with your primary care physician. The evaluation includes:

  • Interview assessment

  • Comprehensive medical assessment

  • Final Geriatric Assessment Team recommendations
