The entrance of the Women’s Center at Riverside Methodist Hospital is located in the back of the hospital, off Thomas Lane. Free valet parking is available around the clock. When you arrive, go directly to Labor and Delivery on the third floor in the Yellow Area.
You will be given a comfortable, private, home-like birthing suite that includes state-of-the-art labor and delivery technology and sleeping accommodations for your partner. Here, you will labor, deliver and recover. During labor and delivery, you may want to limit your support to one additional person.
You may take still photographs throughout your labor and delivery. However, use of recording devices, such as video and digital cameras, is restricted in the Labor and Delivery and Mother/Infant units to ensure the privacy and safety of you and your family.
After delivery, you will be moved to a private postpartum room that includes comfortable sleeping accommodations for you and your partner, a private bathroom and shower, adjustable lighting, rocking chair, telephone, television with VCR/DVD and complimentary Wi-Fi.
You will have the chance to hold your new baby as soon as he or she is born. After a time of bonding or feeding, a nurse will examine, weigh and measure your baby, and give your little one back to you to hold and feed. Your baby will receive a bath and complete assessment while you’re being moved to your postpartum room.
After a normal delivery, we encourage you to keep your baby with you in your room as much as possible to begin the natural bonding process. If you require rest or additional medical care, your baby may be cared for in the nursery near the postpartum room.
General visiting hours are from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
