Your generosity supports the needs of our diabetic patients, including the purchase of supplies such as glucose monitors, Lancets and prescriptions. It also helps our diabetic educator in providing special learning opportunities for diabetic youths.

Promotes learning and continuing education in the laboratory through the provision of grants for attendance at conferences, workshops and seminars as well as training in MLS schools.

Your gift supports the efforts of our sexual assault nurse examiners and the work they do on behalf of victims of sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence, and elder abuse. These specially trained nurses provide compassionate care to children as well as adults during a most difficult time.

Each year the Marion General Hospital Foundation hosts a golf outing to raise funds to support local charities who have like missions as Marion General Hospital, which is “To improve the health of those we serve.” The Foundation Board of Directors selects the local charity to support prior to each outing and shares that information with event sponsors and participants.

Your gift helps our Home Health team of nurses, aides, social workers and therapists play an important role in helping our patients recuperate at home. Our team provides care that is tailored to the different needs of each patient. It can provide patients with medical equipment, medication or supplies as needed.

Your gift supports Hospice staff education, specifically as it relates to bereavement. It helps provides materials on bereavement as well as grief workshops for adults and children who have lost a loved one.

Recognizing that the need for expert cancer care for the patients served through Marion General Hospital is vital to our mission “To Improve the Health of those We Serve”, and that coordinating that care into one location would only improve the experience for the patient and the patient family, the Marion Cancer Center Fund was created to meet the needs of those patients from many directions. From state of the art equipment, cutting edge techniques or supporting patients through services and programs, donations to this fund will help perpetuate exceptional care close to home.

Your generosity helps us continue to enhance patients’ quality of life by helping them and their loved ones develop a care plan that best fits their goals and needs at the end of life. Your generosity helps us meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those with terminal illnesses. It also provides education for recertification of our Hospice nurses who provide high quality, compassionate care.

Established by Marion General Hospital associate Deb Douglas in memory of her infant daughter, Monica, this fund assists families of sick children with expenses such as gas cards for transportation to specialty hospitals and doctor’s visits, food expenses during hospital stays as well as equipment and services for specialized and exceptional care in the Marion General Hospital Obstetrics unit.

Encourages our nurses pursuing education in cardiac services to enhance their learning in order to provide quality exceptional care to our patients.

Provides education and training support for the advancement of cancer care in the form of conferences, specialized training for new technology and emerging therapies associated with cancer care.

Supporting the work of the Palliative Care team as they provide compassionate care to patients with chronic, potentially life threatening illnesses.

Supports educational opportunities for pharmacy associates.

Helping prostate and testicular cancer patients with costs not typically covered by insurance. Assistance can include help with transportation costs associated with getting to and from treatment, prescription co-pays and other expenses.

Providing support for patients who need help paying for prescription medications, as well as other needs to aid in the healing process after discharge following a hospital stay. Additionally, this fund can assist in covering expenses for necessary procedures that will promote or support the treatment plan of an inpatient or emergency patient as determined by the social work team.

Purchases car seats for newborns whose families do not have car seats or cannot afford to purchase them.

Your generosity helps cancer patients and their families navigate some of the unexpected hurdles they may face. This Fund was started by a couple whose own journey was blessed by an abundance of support and who want to help those without similar resources.
