The maternity care experts in the Labor and Delivery Unit at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital have been trained in the latest birth techniques and comfort measures. We have board-certified obstetricians that provide care to our patients. Pediatric hospitalists and anesthesiologists are available on-call 24 hours a day, with certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA) in the unit 24 hours a day. To schedule a maternity tour, please call (419) 526.8734.
In addition to routine pregnancy care, we are prepared to handle high-risk deliveries. At Mansfield Hospital, pediatric hospitalists from Akron Children's Hospital are on staff around the clock to care for your newborn.
We encourage you to pre-register for your hospital stay to avoid extra time and paperwork when you arrive to deliver. To pre-register, please call (419) 526.8415. Or, you can register online at ohiohealth.com/pre-registration.
We provide free, convenient parking adjacent to the main entrance for all of our patients and visitors. In addition, we offer free valet parking services available right outside of our main entrance. The Labor and Delivery Unit is located on the second floor of the hospital and can be accessed near the main lobby entrance. During daytime hours, enter through the front door where you will be greeted and assisted to the Labor and Delivery Unit.
If you arrive after regular business hours, please enter the hospital through the Emergency Department. You will be assisted to the second floor by the Emergency Department staff.
During labor and delivery, you are allowed to have your main support person plus two additional persons for support to be in the room with you. Family and friends are welcome to wait in the spacious Family Waiting Area just down the hall. Visitors under the age of 12, unless a sibling, are not permitted in Labor and Delivery.
After delivery, you will be moved to a private postpartum room that includes comfortable sleeping accommodations for you and your partner, a private bathroom and shower, adjustable lighting, a rocking chair, a telephone, a television with VCR/DVD and complimentary Wi-Fi.
You will have the chance to hold your new baby as soon as he or she is born. After a time of bonding or feeding, a nurse will examine, weigh and measure your baby, and give your little one back to you to hold and feed. Your baby will receive a bath and complete assessment while you’re being moved to your postpartum room.
After a normal delivery, we encourage you to keep your baby with you in your room as much as possible to begin the natural bonding process. If you require rest or additional medical care, your baby may be cared for in the nursery near the postpartum room.
Friends and family are welcome in the Maternity Center at all times and can be limited based on your schedule and preferences. No overnight visitors under the age of 18 are permitted.
Visitors may park in our free and convenient visitor parking lot located near the main entrance of the hospital. The patient liaison can direct them to the mother's room when they arrive.
