Cardiovascular Services at McConnell Heart Hospital
McConnell Heart Hospital offers a breadth of heart and vascular services, from emergency care to advanced procedures and clinical research.
This includes the OhioHealth Advanced Heart & Vascular Center, bringing together the best cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, kidney specialists and radiologists. Patients can see all their doctors, get all their tests and receive a treatment plan -- in one single visit to the Center.
Advanced Heart & Vascular Center
Located on the sixth floor, patients can see a multidisciplinary team of physicians, imaging experts, nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide diagnosis, treatment and education for specific heart or vascular conditions. You can see your physician, have whatever tests may be necessary and receive your treatment plan all in one day. When a procedure is needed, we often can schedule it within a few days.
Cardiac Diagnostic and Treatment Programs
Located closely to one another on the second and third floors combined to make up over 167,000 square feet dedicated to comprehensive heart care.
- Cardiac Imaging & Stress Lab
A high-quality, high-volume diagnostic cardiac laboratory where nuclear stress tests, two-dimensional echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms are performed. Information from these tests often determines if patients will go on to further testing in the catheterization or electrophysiology labs.
- Catheterization Labs
Located on the second floor, just above the Emergency Room, our cath labs operate 24/7. This is where we test blood flow to the heart, legs, abdomen and neck, using a minimally invasive procedure that also allows us to open blockages using balloon angioplasties and stents.
- Non-invasive Arrhythmia Services Labs
This is where we perform title studies, cardioversions and defibrillator checks.
- Patient Care
We provide cardiac specialty inpatient, outpatient and short stay rooms. Private consultation rooms with computers allow cardiologists to share catheterization images with family members and patients.
- Electrophysiology Labs
This is where we provide procedures to correct heart rhythm problems, such as radiofrequency ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implants, and heart failure device placement.
- Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Clinic
The OhioHealth Atrial Fibrillation Clinic cares for patients experiencing acute episodes of AFib that require immediate evaluation or support. It is intended to reduce unnecessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations. For more information, call (614) 788.AFIB (2342).
