This tool can help you figure out your ideal heart rate when you’re exercising. It uses your resting heart rate (the number of times your heart beats per minute while at rest) and your age. If your heart rate is going above the range, you’re pushing your body too hard; if it’s below the range, you can push yourself harder. Medications can affect target numbers -- check with your doctor to see what level of activity is appropriate for you.
