OhioHealth's AdvantAge Program at the John J. Gerlach Center for Senior Health is open to anyone age 50 and over. You don't have to be a member to access the program's wealth of senior health, wellness and education services; however, members receive added benefits that include discounted or free programs and services, such as:

  • Free education programs
  • Many other valuable discounts
  • Medicare and insurance assistance
  • Bi-monthly program catalogs
  • Access to the full services of the Gerlach Center

Annual dues are $15 for an individual or $20 for a couple living at the same address.  Membership is free to OhioHealth associates 50 years of age or older, OhioHealth retirees, and active or retired OhioHealth volunteers.

Senior Health and Wellness Programs

The Gerlach Center offers exercise and fitness classes five days a week. These classes can help increase flexibility, build muscle strength or improve movement and gait. As an AdvantAge member, you'll receive discounts on senior fitness, yoga and T'ai Chi classes (just $2 per class for AdvantAge members). Other programs include:

Food for Thought Educational Series

Want more information about health concerns that affect your life? The Gerlach Center offers programs that cover a wide variety of topics specific to older adults. Lectures are offered weekly on Tuesdays and are free to AdvantAge members. Our health experts can even come to your group or organization to speak on a topic of interest to you.

Computer classes

Volunteer tutors can provide AdvantAge members with free one-on-one computer tutoring at the Gerlach Center.

Medicare and Insurance Assistance

Trained, certified counselors from the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) are available at The Gerlach Center to help you understand Medicare HMOs, supplemental and long-term care insurance coverage and options. Plus, these counselors can help you sort through your medical provider bills and complete Medicare claim forms.
