Welcome to Riverside Methodist Hospital's Premilinary Medicine Residency Program. As Program Director, I invite you to take a few minutes to browse this website to learn more about our program.
We are a one-year, ACGME fully accredited program. On average, we accept 12 PGY-1 residents via application through ERAS annually.
I believe our program is a unique hybrid of academic and community based teaching experiences. We have a long tradition of excellence in Medical Education. We emphasize a resident's personal motivation and work ethic. Our program features a diverse patient population.
At Riverside, residents benefit from excellent clinical teaching and a well-rounded, flexible curriculum with an emphasis on medicine and surgery. Residents gain outstanding procedural experience. Most importantly, there is a high level of camaraderie amongst the house staff. As a PGY 1 PM resident you will be treated equally to PGY 1 Categorical and Preliminary Medicine residents.
Academically, we place emphasis on didactic teaching complimented by patient focused bedside teaching.
As the flagship hospital of the OhioHealth system, Riverside is a busy tertiary care referral center that has successfully maintained a community hospital environment.
We enjoy strong affiliations with The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health and University of Toledo College of Medicine and offer a wide variety of medical student rotations.
Thank you for taking time to visit our program.
