Through the use of human patient simulators and other advances in medical education technology, our centers give medical students and healthcare professionals the opportunity to simulate patient conditions and the patient experience in a wide variety of clinical situations.
Patient simulators offer a safe way for medical professionals to practice new technologies and advanced procedures without putting real patients at risk. They are computer controlled and can be programmed to react in very human ways. Medical training with patient simulators helps to increase patient safety, facilitates the evaluation of new medical technologies and encourages the adoption of new skills.
Located in the McConnell Heart Hospital at Riverside Methodist, this is state-of-the-art medical training facility uses four adult patient simulators, one pediatric simulator and one of the first infant patient simulators in the world.
