At OhioHealth, we are dedicated to engaging with our community.
Every year, we embrace the opportunity to partner with local community organizations to improve health and quality of life.
Our Signature Community Relations Initiatives
The Heart Walk raises funds to prevent, detect and treat heart disease and stroke. It’s a fun, family-friendly event that promotes heart-healthy living. In 2019, OhioHealth’s Heart Walk team was the largest to participate in the event. We registered more than 2,945 walkers and raised $202,300+ through fundraising efforts. OhioHealth was the #3 fundraising team!
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, with Columbus being home to the largest race in the nation. In addition to raising funds, Race for the Cure is committed to educating the public about early detection and helps raise awareness of the importance of breast health.
As the leading provider of breast health services in central Ohio, OhioHealth is a proud supporter of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Supporting the Race for the Cure can directly impact the work we do at OhioHealth — from 2005 to 2019, Komen has granted $3.8 million to the OhioHealth Foundation and the OhioHealth Research and Innovation Institute. Our support of the Race for the Cure helps fund such grants.
Operation Feed is a yearly city-wide campaign that benefits the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. Funds and food raised help feed residents in Columbus and the surrounding areas. In 2019, OhioHealth associates raised $158,128 and 2,295 pounds of food towards Operation Feed, which translates into donations of over 634,807 meals. We are helping feed our hungry neighbors 1 donation at a time.
