Nurse Residency Program

Preparing the next generation of nurses

We help new acute care registered nurses transition to bedside care by building the knowledge, skills and experience needed to be an OhioHealth nurse.

The program will help you:

  • Enjoy interactions with experienced preceptors, subject matter experts and small peer groups throughout your first year
  • Benefit from a blended learning approach that includes didactic, hands-on skills and simulations
  • Develop the effective decision-making skills related to clinical judgment, ethics and safety
  • Incorporate evidence-based practice to inform decision making at the point of care
  • Engage in therapeutic relationships with clients and families as an integral part of nursing care
  • Choose specialty track training in:
    • Medical-Surgical and Intermediate Care
    • Critical Care and Emergency Department
    • Operating Room / Surgery
    • *Limited opportunities for Women’s Health and Behavioral Health tracks are available. Interested candidates should apply directly to Women’s Health or Behavioral Health openings.

Administrative Fellowship Program

Where the leaders of tomorrow begin

Our two-year Administrative Fellowship Program transforms recent graduates into visionary healthcare leaders within our system.

Through this program, you will:

  • Pair with preceptors who help you develop key skills including relationship management, team building, decision-making, strategic planning and people management
  • Interact with executive-level leaders across our organization
  • Be recognized and rewarded as a contributing member of our leadership team

Are you considering a healthcare career or know a family member, friend or student who is? OhioHealth is now hiring 16- and 17-year-olds for specific entry-level jobs to provide young adults with immediate experience. These jobs include:

  • Nutrition Hosts – Job code 6083
  • Environmental Services Associates – Job code 6008
  • Patient Support Assistants (PSAs) – Job code 5056 and 5057
  • Unit Support Coordinators (USCs) – Job code 7093
  • Pharmacy Technician Trainees – Job code 4041
    • Pharmacy Tech trainees: Must be a senior in high school, at least 17 years old and attend one of the Ohio Public High School-approved Pharmacy Technician Training Programs.

To apply you should be actively considering and pursuing a healthcare career such as taking STNA classes, enrolled in a healthcare tech school or intending to pursue a specific healthcare career. Specific requirements are outlined in each job posting.
