Michael Krouse joined OhioHealth in March 2007 as chief information officer and was named senior vice president in 2011. In December 2015, Mr. Krouse assumed responsibility for lab, pharmacy, sterile processing, environment, nutrition and patient transport services. He also assumed leadership for the organization’s process excellence and project management teams. In March 2017, Mr. Krouse was named the senior vice president, and chief strategy and transformation officer for the system. In this role, he provides system leadership for strategy, business development, analytics, Lean Promotion Office and the enterprise Project Management Office.
Mr. Krouse’s leadership and work has been recognized nationally with multiple awards, including the Premier 100 IT Leaders by Computerworld, the H.I.T. Men & Women Innovators Up and Coming Award from Healthcare IT News, the C-Suite Award from Columbus Business First and CIO100. He has led OhioHealth IT to notable recognitions as Most Wired and Best Places to Work in IT each year since 2009, as well as the achievement of HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 Award in ambulatory and acute care settings.
Mr. Krouse currently serves on the board of the Columbus Collaboratory, a multi-industry partnership focused on analytics and cyber and talent development for the central Ohio community. Additionally, he is a board member of the Ohio Health Information Partnership to advance healthcare information exchange throughout the state of Ohio. He further represents OhioHealth as a board member of Ascension Ventures’ most recent $350MM investment fund. Mr. Krouse maintains active board advisory roles for technology companies and is a past board member of the Columbus Children’s Theater and board chair of the Central Ohio Information Exchange.
Mr. Krouse is a long-standing member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, Healthcare Information Management Systems Society and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He completed his undergraduate studies in computer science and engineering at Washington State University and graduate studies in business at the University of Washington. He is an experienced speaker and author of articles on IT trends and technology, strategic planning and leadership development.
Mr. Krouse and his wife have two children.
