Mr. Hagen today is responsible for the operations of OhioHealth Marion General Hospital, in collaboration with OhioHealth Marion Area Physicians. He is working with the Marion community to develop strong cultures and build relationships with associates and physicians. His past roles in the OhioHealth system have fully prepared him for the challenges of developing strategic direction and future development for the north central region of OhioHealth.
Previously, he served as president of Riverside Methodist, the flagship hospital for OhioHealth. Riverside Methodist has received numerous awards and recognition, including Nursing Magnet Status, U.S. News & World Report’s America's Best Hospitals, Solucient "100 Top Hospitals," Joint Commission disease specific certification and 12 consecutive consumer choice awards.
Following his tenure as president of Riverside Methodist, Mr. Hagen oversaw the operations of both OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital and OhioHealth Grady Memorial Hospital, coordinating strategic direction in the northern area of Columbus with Riverside Methodist Hospital and other OhioHealth entities.
Mr. Hagen received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and a master's degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is a fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives.
Mr. Hagen has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare. Prior to joining Riverside Methodist in 2003, he was executive vice president – hospitals/chief operating officer for Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he was responsible for day-to-day operations of the Blodgett and Butterworth campuses, as well as DeVos Children's Hospital.
Mr. Hagen began his career at Wausau Hospital Center in Wausau, Wisconsin, serving in various administrative roles including assistant vice president and interim CEO.
