Early recognition of stroke is critical to avoid
severe damage to your brain and potential long-term disability.
The earlier you identify a stroke, the sooner you can receive treatment to
reverse it or minimize damage. Every minute counts! If you notice a sudden
onset of one or more of these symptoms,
call 9-1-1 immediately:
- Sudden weakness or numbness in your face, arm or leg on one side of
your body
- Sudden severe headache, with no known cause
- Sudden dimness, blurring or loss of vision, especially in one eye
- Loss of speech, trouble talking or understanding others
- Sudden unexplained dizziness or a sudden fall
