Pelvic Floor / Incontinence Therapy

  • To learn the physical reasons behind my pain and to discover - I don’t have to live with it
  • To work with a therapist trained in evaluating and treating my specific condition
  • To participate in exercises and body repositioning techniques that will reduce my pain

Pelvic Floor/Incontinence therapists treat women and men suffering from pelvic pain and incontinence issues.  Treatment may begin with an examination performed by your licensed physical therapist to determine the best approach to therapy, followed by education about:

  • How your pelvic floor functions
  • How you can improve your symptoms by improving pelvic floor function

Your therapist will also guide you in techniques and exercises to eliminate or manage your symptoms. Physical therapy typically requires one to two appointments for approximately 45 minutes per week for a total of six to 10 visits.
