What to Bring to the Hospital

When having a baby, it is important to stay prepared. As you approach the time to deliver your baby, you'll want to be ready for your hospital stay. Here's what we recommend you bring to the hospital for you, your partner and your baby.

For Mom

  • Favorite music and CD player or iPod
  • Favorite DVDs
  • Pillow in a colorful pillowcase (labeled with your name)
  • Toiletries, cosmetics and hair care items
  • Lip balm and lotion
  • Focal point (if desired)
  • Support bra or nursing bra, if breastfeeding
  • Nightgowns, lightweight robe, slippers
  • Comfortable and loose-fitting outfit for going home

 For Partner

  • List of telephone numbers and email addresses of relatives and friends
  • Hand massager to comfort mom
  • Camera
  • Sleepwear, toiletries and clothing (if staying overnight)
  • Snacks

For Baby

  • Name, address and phone number of pediatrician
  • Properly installed car seat
  • Outfit for baby's first picture and going home
  • Hat and booties
  • Receiving blanket
