Our goal is to help our patients get back to their homes as soon as possible. Through an intense rehabilitation therapy program and education, we strive to promote each person's independence and a timely return to participation in home and community based activities.
Our unit features 15 private rooms.
We are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). In our most recent CARF survey, we received no recommendations for improvement , which is an accomplishment by only 3% of all rehabilitation facilities served.

Referrals to our unit
A referral from the patient's medical team is needed to be a patient at the Riverside Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. Evaluations are performed within 24 to 48 hours of a referral call. All attempts are made to provide a decision about acceptance within 24 hours. Admissions are accepted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To make a referral, please call (614) 566-2482.
Our program
Each of our patients is unique and their rehabilitation plans are individualized as well.
- With a focus on an intense hands-on approach, our patients have appointments with various rehabilitation specialists each day.
- Our on-site staff of physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapists works daily with patients according to each person's individualized program.
- Our custom designed unit offers a wide range of equipment to help patients regain strength, mobility and improved thinking/communication skills.
- An important part of our rehabilitation program is education for patients and families so that rehabilitation exercises and strategies may be continued after the patient returns home.
