Grady's Medical Imaging department offers several types of diagnostic testing. The latest equipment saves time for physicians when they need it the most—in critical emergency situations.

Contact the Medical Imaging/Radiology department for information or scheduling. Scheduling exams in non-emergency situations is crucial, since many tests need to be scheduled in a particular order or with special patient preparations in order to work properly.

Key features of medical imaging and radiology

The Latest Equipment for Diagnosis, Grady's Imaging department has recently purchased some of the most advanced equipment for radiology diagnostics, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and CT imaging. Patients now spend less time undergoing diagnostic testing and physicians receive highly accurate information more quickly.

16 Slice CT Scanner
Grady became the 57th hospital in the world and the first in Ohio to install the GE LightSpeed 16 slice computed tomography (CT) scanner. The scanner provides higher resolution images with more accurate results and is much faster than previouse models, making it easier for our patients.

Senographe 2000D Digital Mammography Unit
The GE Senographe 2000D with CAD capabilities allows Grady to provide one of the most technologically advanced mammograms available. Digital technology allows the transfer of images to a computer where they can be enhanced and manipulated to provide greater clarity.

A wide range of imaging services
Grady is able to perform many other tests rapidly and accurately, including bone density scans, mammograms, echocardiographies and peripheral vascular studies. Interventional procedures include drainage and biopsies using appropriate imaging guidance, including CT, fluoroscopy, mammography needle localizations and ultrasound.

"During my recent procedure, the imaging staff member at Grady took time with me in a very patient manner and calmed my nervous concerns. She explained all of the events that would take place in my testing accurately and truthfully. I am very impressed with her confidence and sparkling attitude."
