OhioHealth Heart Care is committed to ongoing research that will help save more lives. We participate
in more than 120 clinical trials each year. Some of these trials have pioneered some of today's leading
heart and vascular treatments, including:
- Drug-eluting stents
- Bi-ventricular pacing for heart failure (performed
first in Ohio)
- Stent grafting for abdominal aortic aneurysms and
carotid arteries
- Pulmonary vein isolation for atrial fibrillation
- Use of platelet inhibitors after angioplasty
Heart disease affects more than 58 million Americans and remains the leading cause of
death in the United States. Our Heart Care Services have been responsible for advances in the diagnosis and
treatment of cardiovascular disease and is nationally recognized for angioplasty and electrophysiology
studies, which demonstrates an ever present commitment to research, education and state-of-the-art technology.
