Cardiac Rehabilitation Services

Heart & Vascular Services >

Admission to a cardiac rehabilitation program is by a physician's referral, and in most cases is covered by insurance.

Riverside Methodist Hospital

Riverside provides cardiac education by the RNs (Registered Nurses) and by inpatient cardiac educators (also Registered Nurses). The education begins before you leave the hospital via written materials, videos and/or a class. These materials are provided to help those with heart disease or angina and those who have had a heart attack or coronary bypass surgery.

For both physical and emotional well-being, rehabilitation continues after your hospital discharge and is available at the McConnell Heart Health Center.

Grant Medical Center

Grant provides Phase I and II Cardiac Rehabilitation. Phase I rehabilitation begins before you leave the hospital and is a personalized program designed for all cardiac inpatients, including post-myocardial infarction (heart attack) with angioplasty, stent placement, open-heart surgery and those with heart failure. The program is designed to help you or your loved ones resume a full and active lifestyle while providing education on primary and secondary prevention of coronary artery disease.

For both physical and emotional well-being, rehabilitation continues after your hospital discharge and is available at the Grant Health and Fitness Center.

Doctors Hospital

Doctors Hospital provides Phase I Cardiac Rehabilitation. Phase I rehabilitation begins before you leave the hospital and is a personalized program designed to help those with heart disease or angina and those who have had a heart attack or coronary bypass surgery resume a full and active lifestyle.

For both physical and emotional well-being, rehabilitation continues after your hospital discharge and is available at Grant Health and Fitness Center and McConnell Heart Health Center.

Grady Memorial Hospital

Grady's Cardiac Rehabilitation department provides exercise, education, and testing for cardiac patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Rehabilitation takes many forms, from individualized exercise programs with careful monitoring to nutrition guidelines and cardiac medications. Physicians and nurses work closely with cardiac patients to ensure that their rehabilitation program contributes to long-term cardiac health.

Grady physicians work with recovering cardiac patients to create targeted plans for full rehabilitation. They consider how patients respond to exercise tolerance tests and take into account other patient factors such as cholesterol level and medical history. The patient's ongoing progress will impact future refinements in the recovery plan.
