Our Professional Staff

Our psychiatric physicians offer a depth of experience in general psychiatry and in specialty areas, such as geriatric psychiatry, dual diagnosis treatment and consultation/liaison psychiatry. Other highly-skilled experts joining the team include:

  • Psychiatric nurses
  • Psychiatric social workers
  • Clinical nurse specialists
  • Activities therapists
  • Psychiatric technicians

Emergency Assessment

Our Behavioral Health Emergency Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the emergency departments of our hospitals.

  • An Emergency Department physician provides a medical examination first to rule out any medical concerns.
  • He or she then refers you or your loved ones to the psychiatric social worker for an assessment.
  • Once needs are assessed, the best, most appropriate services are recommended.

Inpatient Behavioral Health Care

We often recommend inpatient behavioral health care when emotional, psychological and behavioral problems reach a crisis and there is a need for a safe environment to get you or your loved ones stabilized. Our psychiatric team evaluates the most urgent treatment steps. Inpatient behavioral health services include:

  • Medication management
  • Group psycho-education
  • Discharge planning
  • Referral

We offer inpatient dual diagnosis treatment for adults with combined psychiatric and chemical dependency problems.

Consultation Services

We also offer psychiatric assessment and evaluation for those receiving inpatient medical/surgical or ICU care at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Grant Medical Center, Doctors Hospital and Dublin Methodist Hospital. Physicians may contact our Consultation Services at these hospitals to request a consult if you are under their care and suffering with psychiatric complications. A psychiatrist or clinical nurse specialist will then make an evaluation and treatment recommendations regarding your psychiatric condition.

Intensive Outpatient Behavioral Health Program

Our Intensive Outpatient Behavioral Health Program provides short-term crisis stabilization and treatment for you or your loved ones suffering with psychiatric symptoms that significantly impair the ability to function.  It is an alternative to inpatient care and also is available as a follow-up to an inpatient stay.

Employee Assistance Program

Our OhioHealth Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential employee counseling and referral for you and your families about job-related or off-the-job issues. One of our specially trained EAP counselors meets face-to-face with you or a family member and assesses needs. The counselor either resolves the problem within the EAP session(s) or makes a referral to appropriate resources.

  • In addition, we provide group employee and supervisor training and education on a variety of job-related or personal behavioral health issues. We also offer crisis intervention and critical incident stress debriefing at your workplace.
  • Call (614) 566-3348 for more information on how to offer our Employee Assistance Program to your employees.
  • If your employer already has a contract with the OhioHealth Employee Assistance Program, you may schedule an appointment by calling (614) 566-3348 or 1 (800) 992-8533.
