Program goal
Grant Family Medicine is a three-year, ACGME-approved, family medicine residency designed to develop a family physician who is an expert in providing continuing comprehensive and personal care to patients and their families.

Didactics
Residents have the opportunity to attend a wide variety of excellent teaching conferences during their training. An eighteen-month curriculum of topics from Rakel's Textbook of Family Medicine is presented on Wednesday afternoons, and interdisciplinary case rounds take place on all other weekdays at noon. These lectures and case rounds are led by family medicine faculty, specialists of the hospital, outside physicians and other professionals.

Once a month, Grand Rounds will be presented by the Family Medicine Residents and will be available to all Grant hospital staff.

Geriatrics
Geriatrics is a great part of our training program. We have an ongoing affiliation with Summit's Trace and Wexner Heritage Village an assisted living facilities. During the course of your training here at Grant, you will regularly visit patients at these facilities. Topics relevant to geriatric issues are presented each month. We are proud to say that our institution has just added a Geriatrics Fellowship, which is headed by our Program Co-Director, Dr. Robert Skully. His widespread recognition for geriatric expertise and additional certification in geriatrics through the American Board of Family Physicians make him a strong asset to our residency program.
