Discover Grant Medical Center
In July 1900, Grant Medical Center opened its doors and people of Columbus had a first look at the newest hospital in town. This four-story brick building with 50 beds made Grant the largest private hospital in the nation. A century later, the hospital's medical campus has 640 beds and has gained a reputation as one of the area's finest medical facilities.
Over the years, Grant has prided itself in providing the Columbus area with excellent physicians, state-of-the-art medical equipment and treatment and sophisticated medical innovations.
In 2010, OhioHealth was recognized nationally by FORTUNE magazine as a "100 Best Companies to Work For" for the fourth year in a row.
In 2005, Grant was proud to be awarded Magnet Status, the highest level of recognition for nursing excellence.
In January 2007, Grant opened a new state-of-the-art facility dedicated to surgery and enhanced heart services.
Grant is part of the OhioHealth family and serves central and southeastern Ohio. Situated in the heart of downtown Columbus, it is easily accessible from Interstates 70 and 71 and State Routes 23 and 315.
Grant has a rich heritage and outstanding reputation as a health care leader. It also shares the resources and reputation of a much larger health system. OhioHealth is a regional leader in health care that also includes the 1,049-bed Riverside Methodist Hospital in northwest Columbus, Doctors Hospital in west Columbus, the recently purchased Grady Hospital in Delaware and Dublin Methodist Hospital due to open in 2007 in Dublin. OhioHealth is also the parent organization of rural and small town hospitals, including Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton, Marion General Hospital in Marion, Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth and Doctors Hospital at Nelsonville.
